CBSE Class 12 Results 2026 Declared: Pass Percentage Drops to 85.20%, Girls Outshine Boys

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially declared the Class 12 board examination results for 2026. Students can now access their scorecards through the official portals including CBSE websites, DigiLocker, and UMANG.

This year, the overall pass percentage stood at 85.20%, marking a decline from last year’s 88.39%. Out of more than 17.6 lakh students who appeared for the examination, over 15 lakh students successfully cleared the board exams.

Girls Perform Better Again

Girls once again outperformed boys in the CBSE Class 12 examinations. The pass percentage among girls reached 88.86%, while boys recorded 82.13%. Transgender students achieved a perfect 100% pass rate this year.

Top Performing Regions

Among all CBSE regions, Trivandrum emerged as the best-performing region with a pass percentage of 95.62%. Chennai and Bengaluru followed closely with pass percentages of 93.84% and 93.19% respectively. Delhi West recorded 92.34%, while Delhi East stood at 91.73%.

How to Check CBSE Class 12 Result 2026

Students can check their results by visiting the official CBSE result portals and entering credentials such as:

  • Roll number
  • School number
  • Admit card ID
  • Date of birth

The result is available on:

  • CBSE official website
  • DigiLocker
  • UMANG app

In case of heavy traffic on websites, students can also use SMS and IVRS services to access their marksheets.

Supplementary Exams in July

CBSE has announced that supplementary examinations for Class 12 students will be conducted in July 2026. Students who wish to improve their performance can also apply for improvement exams in one subject.

New Changes Introduced This Year

The board implemented the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system this year, aimed at improving evaluation accuracy and reducing counting or totalling errors. The digital system also maintains detailed evaluation records for better transparency.

Students are advised to download and keep copies of their provisional marksheets for admission and counselling processes. Official hard copies will later be distributed through schools.
